I'm a Library Operations Service Support Manager at the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library. My main duties are to provide services to the library community by scheduling the south service desk to be staffed during all open hours. I also spend lots of time providing service at that location as well. I also assist with providing service at the north service desk location. Providing service at either desk entails assisting patrons in a variety of ways. Between the South and North deks, I assist patrons with book circulation, copy card purchases, resolving library account issues, and assisting patrons with reserving study spaces among other tasks.
I am a graduate of Albion College. Albion is a small and very challenging private liberal arts college. I received my degree in 1998. When I finished school, I immediately accepted a position at the University of Michigan's Art Architecture & Engineering Library as an Access Services assistant. I became the supervisor of the Shelving Department at the Taubman Medical Library 14 months later. In October of 2006, I became manager of Reserves and Circulation for the Taubman Medical, Dentistry, and Public Health libraries. In December of 2009, I returned to the Art, Architecture & Engineering Library as the Head of Access Services. In 2010 I joined the Access Services team at the Music Library.
