Register as a Researcher

Students, faculty, visiting researchers, and members of the community are welcome to explore our special collections. Before you can request materials for use onsite, make appointments, or submit duplication requests, you need to register as a researcher. 

• Students, faculty, and staff: Use your U-M credentials.
• Guests: Register and create an account.

If you don’t register in advance, you’ll be prompted to register the first time you sign in to the site to place a request.

Data collection and use 

Your account allows you to submit and track requests, as well as access details about past requests. 

Information collected with the use of a Special Collections Request Account may be retained indefinitely and will not be shared unless required by law.
