Duplication of Special Collection Materials
We welcome students, faculty, visiting researchers, and members of the community to explore our collections. We will provide free duplication of up to 75 pages per 4-month period (January–April, May–August, and September–December).
The process for placing a request depends on which of our systems the materials are described in. See how to request special collections materials for instructions. You can also go directly to your Special Collections Request Account.
What you can expect
We evaluate and fulfill requests based on material format, physical condition, and any applicable restrictions. We may impose limits on duplication requests if fulfillment impacts our ability to provide effective and equitable service.
Straightforward requests for basic-quality images (400 dpi) typically take 4-6 weeks to process. Complicated requests and those for higher-quality images may take longer. We’ll update you on the status of such a request once we begin to process it.
We will send you an email when your request is complete. The message will include one or more links depending on how many files we created. Files are stored in Dropbox and must be downloaded within 30 days.
Copyright and guidance for using reproductions
While we own the items in our collections, we do not hold the copyright unless it has been explicitly transferred to the university. You are responsible for understanding the copyright implications of using duplicated materials.
If you are planning to publish or reproduce materials, please see our guidance on reproductions. It includes how to let us know about planned use and cite our materials, as well as specific requirements and terms of use for papyri.
