The Book Arts Studio is a space for critical making in the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library offering workshops on processes and techniques related to the book arts and a weekly Open Studio time during the fall and winter semester.
It houses a working letterpress studio that originally belonged to Alternative Press creators Ken and Ann Mikolowski. There are nearly 150 drawers of metal typefaces, several varieties of large wooden type, and a few hundred pictorial ornaments in the collection.
Located on the second floor in room 2397 Duderstadt Center, the Book Arts Studio can help students, faculty, staff, and the creative community realize a wide variety of projects. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to start planning your project.
