About me
Marisa Mercurio, PhD is an Acquiring Editor at Michigan Publishing Services.
In addition to international academic journals, I acquire generically diverse campus-based projects that may not be suited to a traditional university press. I also work to education undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Michigan on the fundamentals of scholarly publishing.
My B.A. is in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing, and I hold an M.A. and PhD in English literature. My scholarship engages primarily with British Gothic literature in the long nineteenth century, attending to the construction of gender through the genre. I am currently working on book project on the early history of female detective fiction in Britain.
