In the Development department, I work with constituents who are interested in supporting all aspects of the library’s work. Our team has authentic and deep relationships with people and connects them to library initiatives and programs. These relationships are not just valuable to the donor but also to our colleagues across the library. 

Gifts to the library are usually years in the making through ongoing interactions with donors that include attendance at library events, behind the scenes tours, and receiving library communications like Beyond the Stacks e-Newsletter and the Connector magazine. 

Our donors are motivated to serve the common good and appreciate what libraries do; they are interested in providing access to resources in a format that is accessible to all; they have an interest in the preservation of knowledge; they have an affinity for student spaces and programs; many have worked at the library as students and  not all of them are UM alumni.

You may see me or my colleagues at library events, supporting Giving Blueday on the Diag, at a behind-the-scenes tour of your collection or department, or learning about your area's needs in a meeting.
