About me

As Map Curator, I select new maps and atlases to add to Clark Library's collections and work with others in the library to ensure our materials are well cared for, accessible, and useful for research and instruction. I also help answer reference questions using our physical and digital cartographic collections, offer instruction for classes of all ages and levels, and help with outreach through exhibits and events like Third Thursday.

I earned my MLIS and MA in History at the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee, where I was a reference intern at the American Geographical Society Library and a teaching assistant. Before joining U-M Library, I worked at Milwaukee Public Library as a public services librarian and a project archivist. In my research, I write about American world's fairs as sites of imperial narrative and have explored how maps, photographs, and other visual (but not objective!) records shape viewers' understanding of their place in an increasingly connected and complex world.
