Ann Arbor, MI 48104-3209 [University zip 48109-3213]
The Department of Preservation and Conservation is located on South Campus in the Buhr Building on Greene Street between Hoover and Hill (2 blocks east of S. Main and about 2 blocks north of the stadium). Enter the Buhr Building through the central glass doors off the parking lot, with "837" and the Library units listed on the glass. Take the stairs or elevator upstairs one level. The Conservation Lab (room 3202) is the first door on the right and the Digital Preservation Lab (room 3205) is straight ahead. Follow the hall to the right for additional offices. Click for U-M Campus map.
Walk from Central Campus: the Buhr Building is about a 15-minute walk from the Hatcher Graduate Library. Walk west on Hill Street; Greene is the first left past the railroad tracks.
Commuter Bus Southbound: ring the bell for a stop when the bus crosses the railroad tracks going west on Hoover. Stop is around the corner on Greene St., opposite the Admin Services Building. Walk back (north) one block; Buhr Building is on the right. Click for Commuter North and Commuter South bus stops and schedule.
From the North:
US 23 South to M-14 West; take first exit, Exit 3, onto Main Street. Take Main Street through town. Left on Hill Street (light). Go two blocks, turn right onto Greene. Take first driveway on left into the Buhr parking lot.
I-94 to Exit 177, State Street exit. Go north on State Street for 3 miles. Turn left on Hoover (light), go 4 blocks, first right past railroad tracks is Greene Street. One-half block, driveway on right into the Buhr parking lot.
There are no metered spaces available in the lot in front of Buhr (marked SC-12 on the parking map). The lot SC-12 requires a University of Michigan Blue parking tag--and parking is enforced. Metered spaces are located half a block away at the corner of Hoover Street and Greene (marked VP on the map = Visitor Parking). Street parking is permitted but difficult to find. Street parking is usually available in the residential neighborhood on the other side of S. Main, about a 6-block walk. Click for U-M South Campus parking map
