Where to Return Items

We encourage you to hold on to items from our collections while building access is limited. Please return your interlibrary loan items by their due date, either using an outdoor drop box or by mail. See returning borrowed items during COVID-19 for details.

Most items can be returned to any listed location.

Please return all media items (such as CDs and DVDs) directly to a staffed information services desk or use the designated media drop box at the Music Library. This helps ensure materials do not get damaged.

It’s best to return interlibrary loan materials to the drop box outside the Interlibrary Loan Office in the Hatcher Library, so the items can be checked in promptly and removed from your account. The information services desks listed below also accept these returns, but processing may be delayed.

Individuals who have difficulty returning items due to disability can contact the Interlibrary Loan Office to arrange support.

Outdoor drop box locations

Outdoor drop box locations are available at all times, even when library locations are closed. Items returned during closed hours will be backdated to prevent any inadvertent late fees.

  • Shapiro Library: Drop box near the southwest emergency exit doors (near the South University Avenue driveway)
