Information Science

We collect materials in a variety of formats that support the study of information science. Our areas of focus include library and archival science, libraries, archives and museums, information preservation, social scientific treatments of issues related to libraries, user interface design, user experience and human computer interaction, applied data science, health informatics, information architecture, information economics, policy and law, and social computing.

For collecting purposes, we pay special attention to the needs of students and scholars of the U-M School of Information.

Our collection includes research materials in all formats, as well as professional materials in print and electronic format to support human computer interaction, user experience and data science professionals, academic and public librarians, health informatics and other information professionals.

Important related collections

The areas of social media, online attitudes and behavior, and digital media industries are covered in our communication collections.
