Guest Computing and Printing

Most library buildings and spaces are closed to the public due to COVID-19. Walk-in computing is not available at this time.

Guest computers are available in the Hatcher Library, Shapiro Library, Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library, Fine Arts Library, Music Library, and Buhr Building.

Many of our licensed online resources are available on guest computers.

In Hatcher and Shapiro, you must register at an information services desk to reserve a computer for 2-hour intervals from 8 a.m. to midnight each day. Once registered, you will receive a pass to display at the computer station for the duration of your session. Please note guests cannot access web-based email on our computers.

Printing, Scanning, Copying

To copy and print, guests must create an online account

You can visit information services desks at the Hatcher Library, Shapiro Library, or the Art, Architecture, and Engineering Library to:

  • pick up a new copy and print card
  • transfer value from an old copy card
  • add value to your new account

Guest copying and printing accounts can be used at any printer or copier supported by Campus Computing.

U-M departments can give print access to guest faculty or staff by setting up an account through Campus Computing and using a shortcode.
