We love all of our books and archives, but everyone has a few special favorites. Join us for cookies, cocoa, and a chance to see Special Collections staff favorites. See photographs of an early 20th-century marionette production of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” hand-colored plates of early 19th century Paris, vintage Betty Crocker advertisements, pop-ups from Michigan paper engineer Robert Sabuda, and so much more!

Join us (on the 6th floor of Hatcher) for Third Thursdays at the Library, a themed monthly open house where we share materials from our collections. While you’re here, pick up a Third Thursday Passport and collect a stamp from each of this month's Third Thursday Open Houses — the Clark Library, International Studies, and the Special Collections Research Center — to win a prize!

Scene on a beach showing a saddled horse, a man sitting on the ground, a castle on a hill, and a rainbow over the water.

Marmion: A Tale of Flodden Field (1811) by Walter Scott, bound in vellum over boards with painted covers, a gift from Ruth and Robert Iglehart.
