I joined MLibrary on 1/15/1996, the holiday of Martin Luther King Jr. birthday. Over the years, I've worked in almost all Ann Arbor locations of the University of Michigan Library. These days I work at the Fine Arts Library. I assist patrons at the service desk, pull books for patrons requests, process bindery prep materials, reshelve books and work on other projects.
I received my BA in Russian Language and Literature from the University of Michigan Residential College. I attended the Graduate program in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, wishing to work with the aids research. But I didn't finish the program. During summer of 1995, I had a student job at the Graduate library Technical Services transliterating Cyrillic languages titles and assisting with recording periodicals. I saw how hard the graduate studies were for me in comparison with library work and how much more I enjoyed the library.
