Help support our students’ comfort, connection, and overall well-being — one wagging tail at a time! Contribute to the cause on December 2.
For years we've partnered with Therapaws of Michigan to bring trained therapy dogs (and their volunteer handlers) to our spaces during the high-stress lead-in to midterms and finals, offering students comfort, connection and support. Students joyfully throw down their backpacks and sink into the embrace of these sweet pups. Therapy dogs are trained to sense and comfort those around them, making connections even amidst a crowd. It’s common for these moments to spark conversations about students' own pets, and the homes and families they miss, allowing shared stories and emotional support.
We plan to build on this extremely popular program and expand our wellness offerings. Your gift will support new initiatives like pop-up well-being spaces with healthy snacks, sensory kits, and relaxation stations that could feature neck massages, sound baths, and other fun ways to connect. Your contribution amplifies a program that is available to every U-M student.
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages generosity and takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's a day to give back to communities and causes through acts of charity, volunteering, or spreading kindness.
