Help our Preservation Services team reduce their time making boxes so they can spend more time preserving our rare and historic materials. We're on a mission to raise $30,000 for an archival box-making machine.
Archival boxes, which are currently custom made at the library or outsourced, provide protection for thousands of fragile and vulnerable materials. Creating them by hand takes time, and archival boxes ordered from outside vendors can take 1-3 months to arrive, which keeps materials out of circulation.
The Gunnar AiOX Box-Making Machine streamlines the creation of archival boxes in-house. It shortens the box-making process from over an hour to mere minutes, creates less wastage, and provides a more durable final product, ensuring safe storage for years to come.
