In this text analysis workshop, we'll feature a collection of African American cookbooks in the HathiTrust Digital Library. The focus of the workshop will be an introduction to text analysis projects, including finding and creating text datasets in HathiTrust. We will also cover beginner text analysis tools such as those provided by the HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC). Register above to get your Zoom link.

Workshop hosts:

  • Janet Swatscheno, Digital Scholarship Librarian, HathiTrust
  • Kate Topham, Digital Scholarship Specialist, University of Michigan Library

We're partnering with the HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) for this event in honor of Douglass Day 2025 —  an annual program that marks the birth of Frederick Douglass by calling on teachers, scholars, and students to create new, freely available resources on Black history.
