In this new role I am responsible for overseeing and managing the licensing of all Library content, including electronic resources and tangible resources. I review documents in the context of the needs and expectations of the Library and its end users and decide when changes are needed. I am also responsible for package management, working with selectors to help determine which resources need to be ordered and coordinating order details.
My other duties include facilitating resource assessment activities by working directly with the ERO (Electronic Resources Officer).
I was the Head, E-Acquisitions & Licensing Unit for seven years (2010-2017). Prior to that, I served as Electronic Resources Librarian at the University of Illinois at Chicago, coordinating negotiations and acquisitions. At UIC I assisted in planning and implementing technical services reorganization, and retrained Serials Acquisitions staff as E-resources Specialists.
Before joining the library, I administered research grants in the College of Medicine at UIC for 10 years. My education includes a BA and MA from University of Illinois at Chicago in English and American Literature and Rhetoric & Writing; and MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois.
