A graduate of the University of Michigan, Edwards has a background in arts business and management as well as having held a multiplicity of roles in U-M survey research and in the University of Michigan Library system. As an exhibitor for several of the early years of the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, Edwards, along with several colleagues, went on to found the Ann Arbor Free Art Fair which then became the Guild Art Fair.
Edwards has a diversified background, having served in various capacities within the U-M Library. Prior to her current position at Buhr, she held positions at the Art, Architecture and Engineering Library, Shapiro Library, the Film-Video Library (now Askwith Media Library), Hatcher Graduate Library, Kresge Library, Michigan Media (U-M's film and video teaching and professional production studios) as well as holding the Inaugural Work Study Position at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library.
Edwards is currently on staff at the Buhr Building. She provides on-site services to patrons making use of the Buhr collection, assisting in the processing and redistribution of materials belonging to the Buhr collections as well as those of the various main and divisional libraries throughout the U-M system.
