I am a processing archivist for the Special Collections Research Center. In essence, I am a librarian for "old stuff." Historical materials found in an archive can range from documents and manuscripts, audio/visual materials (photographs, film, audio tapes, etc.), and even physical objects. My job is to help process these resources both for preservation as well as for researcher use. This involves working with the collections to create an easy-to-understand organization of the resources so that they are easily accessible for researchers to use, as well as transferring the collections to storage locations that will help prevent any future damage.
