Each president's publications are number chronologically, e.g. Clinton is the 42nd president, so publications from his office are designated PR 42 PREX Executive Office of the President The Executive Office of the President is composed of several important entities, including: Office of Management and Budget PREX 2.8: Budget This series includes the Budget of the United States Government (PREX 2.8: ) which contains the budget message of the president to congress and an overview of the president's budget proposals. The Budget Appendix (PREX 2.8/app.) contains detailed information on appropriations and funds that make up the budget. Other titles in this series include: United States Budget in Brief (PREX 2.8/2: ), Major Themes and Additioanl Budget Details (PREX 2.8/Themes) and Special Analyses (PREX 2.8/5: ). PREX 2.20: Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance This annual publication is the source for information on federal assistance, including grants, scholarships, loan guarantees, technical assistance, programs such as Fulbright-Hays, and other assistance programs. CIA PREX 3.10: World Factbook This annual publication is a compilation of basic economic, political, and sociological data arranged alphabetically by country. PREX 3.10/4: Maps and Atlases AE 2.109: Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents The Weekly Compilation "includes the text of proclamations and executive orders, addresses and remarks, communications to Congress, letters, messages, telegrams, news conferences, reorganization plans, resignations, retirements, . . acts approved by the president, nominations submitted to the Senate, a digest of other White House announcements, and a checklist of White House press releases." AE 2.114: Public Papers of the President of the United States A bound, compiled version of the Weekly Compilation. Includes subject, name and document category indexes. AE 2.106: Federal Register "The Federal Register provides a uniform system for making available to the public regulations and legal notices issued by federal agencies. These include Presidential proclamations and Executive Orders and Federal agency documents having general applicability and legal effect, documents required to be published by act of Congress and other Federal agency documents of public interest." AE 2.106/3: Code of Federal Regulations The CFR is an annual codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Register. The CFR is published in 50 volumes (or "titles") that cover a broad subject area. Each title is updated annually and contains rules in effect at that time. Title 3 of the CFR contains all of the presidential proclamations, executive orders and other presidential items required to be published in the Federal Register. X/a: Congressional Record The official transcript of debate on the floor of the House and Senate. Printed daily when Congress is in session. Presidential information includes proclamations, executive orders, addresses, messages, and statements. XJH/XJS House and Senate Journals The only publications required by the Constitution, these publications contain inaugural addresses, state of the union addresses, and various communications to Congress (veto messages, etc.). Y 1.1/2: Congressional Serial Set Many messages, addresses, budget documents, and economic reports are printed as House or Senate Documents. Treaty Documents and Senate executive reports S 1.3: Department of State Bulletin The Bulletin was published from 1939 until 1989 and included all major presidential addresses, news conferences, and proclamations regarding foreign affairs. In addition, activities by the Secretary of State and other Department of State officials were reported, along with articles covering various aspects of international relations. S 1.3/5: U.S. Department of State Dispatch Since 1989, the Dispatch has replaced the Bulletin as the major periodical covering foreign affairs and the Department of State, although in an abbreviated format. S 9.10: Treaties and Other International Acts Series (TIAS) The TIAS is a pamphlet series that includes all treaties ratified by the Senate and signed by the President. S 9.12: United States Treaties and Other International Agreements (UST) The UST is a compilation of the TIAS pamphlet series and contains all treaties ratified by the United States since 1950. S 9.12/2: Treaties and Other International Agreements of the United States of America, 1776-1949 (Bevans) This 13 volume set, with index, contains a complete compilation of U.S. treaties from 1776 to 1949. S 9.14: Treaties in Force (TIF) This annual publication lists all treaties that are in force as of January 1 of the current year.
