Sections of this quarterly include Boundary and Territorial Issues, Economic and Resource Issues, Political Geography, Demographic Issues, and Geographic Names. Reading Room Published since 1941, with a gap in coverage from 1967 to 1977, this series reprints principal public foreign policy messages and addresses, press briefings, and conferences. Microfiche supplements, issued since 1981, publish complete texts of documents on extracted in the paper edition. FBIS Electronic Index - Library CD Network FBIS is a translation service started by the CIA in 1947. FBIS is translations of newspaper and media accounts from foreign countries. The CIA is interested in more than political affairs of communist countries, so there are stories on agriculture, economics, social affairs, etc. from the various regions of the world.
