NATIONAL ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATABASE ON THE NETWORK This CD-ROM looks and works like the NTDB but has domestic information. Because this is a collection of information from many different sources, there is no unified format or access. Besides the obvious information included in its title, it also has such things as weather, crime, airline, and health data, for example. Source = AUTHOR (what agency produced the data) Topic = SUBJECT Program = TITLE Title = TITLE KEYWORD Item = code numbers for individual items. This is the fastest access and works best for people constantly checking the same thing for updates. Use arrow keys and typing to move around. Use function keys to do something. (Available activities change!). Use to select. The menu bar changes depending on where you are and what you're doing, so keep checking it. BUT... F1 is always HELP F2 is always a description of the document F3 is usually VIEW (to read the document) . Valuable information appears in the box in the top right corner. When typing to move around, typing SLOWLY will get you to the word faster. This CD doesn't give you a Superintendent of Documents number but many of these titles are available in paper format in the documents collection at the Lakewood Branch. Ask the reference staff if we have your document unless you are going to download to a floppy for your personal computer or just need to print a few pages. The attached index is dated Nov. 1993 and some programs are added and removed with each quarterly edition of the NESE.
