Geographic areas include governmental breakdowns (states, counties, etc.) and special census designations such as: region and division, urban and rural, metropolitan statistical area (MSA), urbanized area (UA), census county division (CCD) or minor civil division (MCD), census designated place (CDP), tract, block numbering area (BNA), block group and block. Preliminary reports provide advance data. Annual updates to information: GOVERNMENT FINANCES (GF series) C 3.191/2 and GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT (GE series) C3.140/2 ECONOMIC CENSUSES Data is tabulated by establishment and standard industrial classification (SIC) code. Geographic designations used are: U.S., states, metropolitan statistical areas (MSA's), counties, places with a population of 2,500 or more and zip codes. GEOGRAPHIC AREA SERIES consist of a separate volume for each state. PRELIMINARY REPORTS are published for most censuses. Monthly and annual subject specific reports bring the censuses up-to-date. COUNTY BUSINESS PATTERNS, C 3.204, brings the censuses up-to- date with annual economic statistics by SIC. COMPENDIUMS COUNTY AND CITY DATA BOOK.
