CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND MULTICULTURALISM: A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS INTRODUCTION This bibliography contains both federal and Nebraska state documents that can be found in the Government Documents Collections of Calvin T. Ryan Library, University of Nebraska at Kearney. It contains titles for K - 12 educators to use in the classroom and for background information. It is arranged in two broad categories: "Cultural Diversity" and "Multiculturalism". Subdivisions under cultural diversity include "arts and humanities", "Holocaust", "racism", "sexism", and "various topics". Under multiculturalism are subheadings "various topics", "Asian-Pacific Islanders", "African Americans" which is further subdivided into "various topics" and "history", "Hispanic Americans", and "Native Americans" which is further subdivided into "arts and crafts", "children's books", "history", "information about specific tribes", "music and ceremonies", and "various topics". Within each section titles are listed alphabetically by title. The bibliography is not comprehensive; it serves to guide users to selected materials in the collections. Other bibliographies of K - 12 curriculum related government documents are available. These include three general ones of curriculum materials in the federal government documents collection and one of curriculum materials in the Nebraska documents collection. Two other bibliographies list curriculum materials to use with adult- level students. Copies of these bibliographies are available to the public on racks in both the government documents area and the curriculum/non-book areas of the library. Use the call numbers given with each title to locate the item in the collections. Ask at either department's offices for assistance, if needed.
