ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES Technical Supplement U.S. Government Printing Office Library Programs Service Vol. 4, no. 03 GP 3.16/3-3:4/03 March 31, 1997 Format Designations for Electronic Products Clarified When U.S. Government information products are made available through the Federal Depository Library Program, all formats for the products will be noted in the List of Classes. Paper and microfiche products are coded (P) and (MF). For electronic products, there are 4 codes to differentiate format: E Electronic Products (miscellaneous) EL Online Electronic Format CD CD-ROM FL Floppy Diskette These codes will be used in future issues of the the List of Classes and in Administrative Notes Technical Supplement. Example: I 19.76: Open File Reports (MF) (CD) (FL) Libraries wishing to receive all the electronic products issued by an agency or bureau should select all item numbers associated with that agency and designated (E), (CD), and (FL). The (E) designation will be used when the exact format is unknown. The conversion of existing notations in the List of Classes will take some time to complete, but Depository Administration Branch staff are proceeding to make the changes.
