ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES Newsletter of the Federal Depository Library Program Vol. 18, no. 04 GP 3.16/3-2:18/04 February 28, 1997 MICHAEL F. DIMARIO PUBLIC PRINTER PREPARED STATEMENT BEFORE THE SUBCOMMITTEE ON LEGISLATIVE APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE ON APPROPRIATIONS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON APPROPRIATIONS ESTIMATES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998 February 11, 1997 FY 1998 APPROPRIATIONS REQUEST For FY 1998, we are requesting $114.5 million for those programs that require annual appropriations directly to GPO. This is an increase of $3.8 million, or 3.4 percent, over the funding approved for FY 1997. However, it is also $1.2 million, or 2.6 percent, less than the amounts appropriated 5 years ago. The request includes $84 million for the Congressional Printing and Binding Appropriation and $30.5 million for the Salaries and Expenses Appropriation of the Superintendent of Documents. The increase is due primarily to general price level increases, although for congressional printing there are also workload increases in various product categories that are typical for a second session of Congress.
