From lpsmail@access.digex.netFri Jul 5 08:23:37 1996 Date: Wed, 3 Jul 1996 17:50:18 -0700 From: Shipment Reply to: Discussion of Government Document Issues To: Multiple recipients of list GOVDOC-L Subject: ADNOTES: RESOLVE TAX INFO PUB 1194 PROBLEMS THE MESSAGE BELOW IS FROM ADMINISTRATIVE NOTES, VOL. 17, #09 (July 15, 1996) 4 Ways to Resolve Missing/Duplicate Volume Problems with Tax Information Publication 1194 Tax Information Publication 1194 was pre-packaged and distributed on shipping list 96-0046-S (item 0964-B, SuDocs T 22.44/2:1194/995/v.1-3). Each package should have contained one copy each of volumes 1, 2, and 3. Instead some of the cartons contained a copy of volume 1 and two copies of either volume 2 or 3. Libraries that are missing a volume may already have the information from that volume on a depository CD, if they select item 0923-B-01. The CD-ROM version of Tax Information Publication 1194 was distributed under that item number on shipping list 96-0020-E (SuDocs T 22.51/4:995/REL.95.3). The information is also available on the Internet, at the address given below. LPS has received a large number of claims for volumes 2 and 3, but we are unable to procure sufficient copies to fill them without the help of depository libraries. Please use one of the following options to obtain the missing volume: 1. Return the extra volume to GPO so we can use it to fill claims. Mail the volume to: U.S. Government Printing Office Library Programs Service: Stop SLDM Paper Claims Washington, DC 20401 2. Request the equivalent data on CD-ROM by faxing your request to (202) 512-1429 or by e-mail to . Please include your library number and the item number for the product (0923-B-01). 3. Access this information on the Internet at http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/prod/forms_pu bs/index.html 4. Find a depository that has an extra copy of the volume you need and exchange with them. Many of you have already done this through GOVDOC-L; and LPS thanks each of you who have taken this approach. LPS regrets any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please call Mr. Carl Redd at (202) 512-1014 or e-mail at .
