CHECKLIST OF BASIC GPO DEPOSITORY RULES,
REGULATIONS, AND REFERENCE PUBLICATIONS

     All depository libraries should have the following basic GPO
publications which have been distributed under the 0556-C item
number.  Library staff typically file them in their beige binders with
"Instructions to Depository Libraries" and "A Practical Guide to the
Superintendent of Documents Classification System" in brown spine
lettering.  Any older editions should be discarded as superseded.

     Many of these publications are available in electronic format for
downloading on the Federal Bulletin Board (FBB).  The FBB can be
reached by via dial-in on (202) 512-1387; by telnet and FTP at
<fedbbs.access.gpo.gov>.
