CUMULATED ABRIDGED INDEX MEDICUS CEASES PUBLICATION The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has announced that its Cumulated Abridged Index Medicus ( Item 0508-E-01, SuDocs HE 20.3612/2-2:)will cease effective with volume 25, the cumulation of the 1994 issues of the monthly Abridged Index Medicus. A cumulation of the 1995 issues will not be published. NLM cites declining subscriptions, increased use of the MEDLINE database, and budgetary constraints as reasons for ceasing publication. This decision does not affect the unabridged Cumulated Index Medicus nor the monthly Abridged Index Medicus for 1996.
