Background
I was born and raised in Shinjuku, the busiest commercial district in Tokyo, Japan. I moved to California to complete my undergraduate study at University of California at Los Angeles and obtained my BA in Art History (Non-Western Art). My work experience at the Asia Library started in 1996, and while working as a library assistant, I obtained my MLIS from Wayne State University in 2002. I also completed the program for Master of Arts in Japanese Studies, University of Michigan, in May 2010, broadening my subject knowledge and exploring users' needs by meeting faculty and graduate students in class.
