I manage the HathiTrust copyright review program bringing together copyright reviewers from a number of library partners across the country and Canada to identify public domain digital books. This program grew out of the Copyright Review Management System (CRMS) which was funded by three National Leadership grants from the Institute of Museum and Library Services over the period 2008-2016.
I have worked at the University of Michigan Library since 2004 as Senior Associate Librarian for the Copyright Office, teaching sessions on fair use and other aspects of using copyrighted materials in academia. I've also worked in Michigan Information Transfer Source (MITS) and MLibrary Document Delivery interlibrary loan services. Prior to librarianship, I taught band and choir in the Michigan public schools. I hold an MSI from the University of Michigan School of Information, an MM in Conducting from Southern Oregon University and a BA in English and music education from Hope College, MI.
