After graduating from Marywood University in 2001 with a B.S. in Education, I completed a rewarding year of service in Colorado with AmeriCorps and continued on as a 5th grade teacher within my service district. After segueing into the library world, I worked for four years with the Denver Public Library. I moved to Ann Arbor in the fall of 2008 and started working at the Buhr Remote Shelving Facility in 2009. My time there was split between Buhr stacks responsibilities and the Michigan Digitization Project.
I am a student in the M.A. Information and Learning Technologies program at the University of Colorado (2017). My main areas of interest are non-traditional learners in higher education, first generation college students and instructional design for eLearning and blended learning environments.
I joined Special Collections in 2014. My primary responsibilities include processing current Labadie Collection serials and working mainly with Labadie materials and records. I also work closely with our curators, as well as interdepartmentally in Hatcher and North Buhr, to prioritize the processing of all collections in both building locations. I am involved in exhibit planning and preparation and spend several hours a week on the 8th floor reading room desk. My main objectives are to maintain efficient workflows between involved departments and to provide access to materials for our campus community.
