About the Library
The Fine Arts Library, located on the 2nd floor of Tappan Hall serves the students and faculty of the History of Art Department, the Visual Resources Collection, and helps support the research and curatorial functions of the University of Michigan Museum of Art as well as the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. By extension the library serves the greater university community and members of the public with regard to art historical research and information on the visual arts.
The Fine Arts Library maintains an excellent collection of print and electronic resources in the history, theory, and criticism of the visual arts, consisting of over 100,000 volumes on painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic arts, decorative arts, architectural history and photography.
