This map follows the model of the Cassini map of France, and comes from Coutan’s Tableau Topographique des Environs de Paris, a sixteen-sheet map, these being the center four sheets. The Tableau appeared in a new edition by Charles Picquet in 1800, with the title Atlas topographique des environs de Paris (a copy is held in the Map Library). This four-sheet plan was sold in Picquet’s shop and is from the Clinton Collection.
