Get This

Need a book from another campus library? The Get This service will see that the book is sent to your preferred library and held for you to pick up.

This is a free service available to all library users, for regular circulating materials, to and from the following libraries: the Art, Architecture & Engineering Library, the Asia Library, the Fine Arts Library, the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library, the Herbarium Library, the Music Library, the Museums Library, the Public Health Library, the Shapiro Science Library, the Social Work Library, Taubman Medical Library, and the Shapiro Undergraduate Library, as well as from the Buhr Shelving Facility.

To request items for delivery:

  • Locate the desired item in Mirlyn, the library catalog of the University of Michigan.
  • Select the linked Title to view the full record for the item.
  • Use the "Get This" button to request pickup at the location of your choice. You will automatically be prompted to log in with your Kerberos uniqname and password if you are not already logged in.

Response time varies from 2-3 days if the book is on the shelf, to weeks or more if it's on order or currently on loan to someone else. This applies to regular, circulating books only. (The quickest way to obtain an item is to go to the owning library and find it yourself on the shelves.) You will be notified via email when the item has arrived at the requested location.

Please send any comments or questions about the service to glcirc@umich.edu

You will be notified by email when the book is available for pick up.

If you are not able to login to Mirlyn, please complete the form below.
