Bert’s Study Lounge, located in the Shapiro Library Lobby, is an inviting space intended to support collaborative and peer learning. Users can engage with technology to accomplish their academic goals as well as see how others have used these resources in a creative, informal and fluid learning atmosphere that combines expertise, technology, and resources.

Bert's Study Lounge is named after its benefactor, Bertram J. Askwith (LSA '31), who gave this gift to the Library to celebrate his centennial year. The bird motif featured on the walls reflects John James Audubon's Birds of America.
