Patricia Majher, author of "Ladies of the Lights: Michigan Women in the U.S. Lighthouse Service," shares stories about female lighthouse keepers on the Great Lakes. Celebrate Women's History Month with us by learning about some of the women who kept lighthouses running, defying the gender expectations of their time to serve the sailing communities on Lakes Huron, Michigan, and Superior, as well as on the Detroit River. Followed by Q&A. This event will be held in Zoom and streamed to Facebook Live. Please register above.
The University of Michigan Press is selling Ladies of the Lights at a discount in March; use the promo code "UMGL12MAJHER" when you check out.
