Cartonnage from a Book Board

P. Mich. Inv. 612 [a] (recto)

Clump of thick and fibrous cartonnage; at its thickest edge the board measures 3 mm. There are three intentional holes visible along the left edge of the fragment; two are close together, with a third pierced hole visible several centimeters away. This was undoubtedly a large-size book cover, perhaps about the same size as P. Mich. Inv. 7077.
