Economics

The economics collection primarily supports the academic needs of faculty and students in the Department of Economics, with a focus on:

  • economic history
  • economic theory
  • banking
  • credit
  • global economic development
  • econometrics
  • foreign direct investment
  • applied economics
  • game theory
  • labor

The collection is particularly strong in journals. English language journals in the field of economics are nearly all electronic, as are economics databases. The collection also includes print materials in all languages and electronic statistical collections, such as Social Explorer, Data Planet, Demographics Now, and Statista. We sometimes purchase data upon request if it cannot be located through these resources.

Important related collections

Other collections on campus also support the economics collection. Works on business are largely provided by Kresge Library Services in the Ross School of Business.  Nearly all of Kresge’s electronic books, journals and databases are available to the entire campus and can be located through Library Search. Kresge collections include company information and history, finance, investing, accounting, marketing and management.

The Clark Library collects government information, intergovernmental organization materials, datasets, and maps. The Labadie Collection includes materials on American labor movements through the 1930s.
