Bobby Glushko on keeping library digitization legal

June 14, 2011

Bobby Glushko, associate librarian in the University of Michigan's Copyright Office, recently authored an article published in American Libraries, "Keeping Library Digitization Legal."  Glushko explains how "a mixture of good policy, careful action, a reliance on the protections afforded to libraries and archives by the law, and a healthy attitude toward working with lawyers or general counse" all go a long way to a confident approach to digitizing for libraries.  Glushko joined the University of Michigan Copyright Office in the fall of 2010 where he helps student and faculty learn about copyright as it relates to their scholarly and creative work.
