Next steps in the building renovation plan

With the academic year behind us, we turn our attention to 2013-14 and the major construction project that will begin later this year.

In December, we will begin the renovation of the A. Alfred Taubman Health Sciences Library building. The entire library building will close in mid-December 2013. When construction is complete, the library building will be better equipped to handle the demands of 21st Century education — for our school’s medical and graduate students, as well as those from U-M’s other health professional schools.

We expect to open the library building again in mid-2015. As December approaches, we are focused on relocating the building’s learning, study, and information functions — along with the faculty and staff who work in the facility — to other areas within the Health System.

Future messages and additional information  will be posted to the Taubman Library and University Library websites — including office and staff relocations and other information that will help faculty, staff and students to navigate the closure.

Thank you for your patience during the renovation process. This is an exciting time in medical and health sciences education, and we look forward to sharing more details in the future.

Sincerely,
