Wednesday March 28th at 6:00pm: Screening of Selections from The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

Have you ever wondered what the Bennet sisters' adventures in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice might look like in the 21st century? On Wednesday, March 28th from 6:00-7:30pm, join Anne Charlotte Mecklenburg, PhD student in the University of Michigan's English Department, for a screening of selected mini-episodes from the web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, followed by discussion. This event will take place in the Shapiro Undergraduate Library, Screening Room 2160

Pemberley Digital's The Lizzie Bennet Diaries re-casts Elizabeth Bennet as a middle child stuck between perfect Jane and wild Lydia, living at home while pursuing a graduate degree in Mass Communications. The narrative is re-imagined as a video blog, with over 150 mini-episodes. It was awarded a Creative Arts Emmy® for Original Interactive Program in 2013.

Early arrivers are invited to join curators Juli McLoone and Sigrid Anderson Cordell for our final tour of The Life and Times of Lizzy Bennet from 5:00-5:45pm. The tour will meet at 5 o'clock in the Audubon Room on the first floor of Hatcher North.  Registration is requested, but not required. Afterwards, we will walk together to Shapiro to join the film festivities!
