Last updated: September 7, 2021

With the fall semester begun, we've expanded access to library services and buildings and rolled back some of our temporary pandemic-related restrictions and activities. Check back often for the latest updates.

Key updates

Library buildings are now largely open to the public Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.

  • The Hatcher, Shapiro, and Art, Architecture & Engineering Libraries are open, with extended evening and weekend hours for Mcard holders
  • The Taubman Health Sciences Library, Fine Arts Library, and Music Library are open

The HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service ended on August 23. You can now borrow all of the books in our circulating collection, and will no longer be able to access the full text of copyright protected books in HathiTrust.

Masks are required regardless of vaccination status (see the university's face covering policy).

Services

There are now additional contactless pickup locations available and departmental delivery has restarted.

Walk-in study space is available throughout library buildings. The Shapiro Library has bookable tables and study rooms.

JavaBlu Café in the Taubman Health Sciences Library, Bert's Café in the Shapiro Library, and Mujo Café in the Duderstadt Center are all now open.
