Writing in Graeco-Roman Egypt

Fragment of Seneca's Medea
Parchment
4th Century AD
Egypt

P.Mich.inv 4969

This fragment of a literary Latin text is a good example of a Latin book hand. The letters are easily recognizable, since they are very similar to modern capital letters. The visible part of the first line reads "UXOR IN", the beginning of line 663 of Seneca's Medea.
