I have been working at the U of M library since 1995. I started my library career transliterating Cyrillic serial titles as a student employee. My first library job was at Taubman Interlibrary Loan. After that I worked in various Technical Services units for 10 years. At Buhr I have been since 2008. About 50 percent of my job is technical, the rest is at the circulation desk in the reading room. I process books and serials for long term storage, retrieve books requests for patrons and withdraw duplicates. I also supervise students and oversee the building fire and security system during manager's absence. I serve on the Library Staff Forum Board. Currently I'm studying at Washtenaw Community College towards an Administrative Assistant Certificate.
Some people know me as Marguerite others know me as Meg. I'm originally from Poland and came to the United States at the age of 16. I graduated from the University of Michigan Residential College and received a BA degree in Russian Language and Literature. In college I studied variety of subjects like Russian literature, history, philosophy, French, film and dance. Music is still my favorite hobby and I am a dj at three internet radio stations.
