I have been working at the U of M library since 1995. I started my library journey transliterating Cyrillic serial titles as a student employee. My first full time library job was at Taubman Interlibrary Loan. After that I worked in Technical Services, more specifically in Serials and Acquisitions at Hatcher Graduate Library, for about 10 years. At Buhr I have been since 2008. About 50 percent of my job is technical, the rest is at the circulation desk in the Buhr reading room. I process books and serials for long term storage, retrieve books requests for patrons, withdraw duplicates and assist patrons in the reading room. Twice a week for four hours I staff the desk in Serials and Microforms at Hatcher Graduate Library and process books from the Graduate Stacks office. I served full term on the Library Staff Forum Board from 2013 to 2015 and displayed my photographs and video in 2015 Library Talent Circus. I have always been interested in reference and hope to one day work at the reference desk at Hatcher Graduate Library.
I'm originally from Poland and came to Ann Arbor at the age of 16. I graduated from the University of Michigan Residential College and received BA degree in Russian Language and Literature. In college I studied variety of subjects like Russian literature and history, French, philosophy, film and dance. Music is my favorite hobby and I until recently I was a dj on four internet punk and blues radio stations. I also enjoy photography and crafts.
