I work as a University Library Associate for the Special Collections Library and the Department of Preservation & Conservation. I am also currently pursuing a Master of Science in Information (MSI) from the University of Michigan School of Information, with a concentration in Archives & Records Management (ARM) and Preservation of Information (PI).
I earned my A.B. in English from Bowdoin College in 2009. Since then (and before coming to Michigan), I have taught English in Japan with the JET Program, volunteered at Middlebury College's Preservation Department and Special Collections, and worked at a used bookstore shelving and cataloging.
My current interests are wide-ranging, including special collections, archives, preservation (particularly print and digitization of print), instruction in library and higher-education settings, and digital humanities.
I provide reference services for the Special Collections, Hatcher Graduate, and Shapiro Undergraduate Libraries. Currently, in my work at Buhr, I peform preservation activities for collections materials, assess preservation needs, and update and plan preventative and remedial activities for collections, with a particular focus on disaster planning. In the future, I will work more closely with the Special Collections Library, processing archival collections and conducting special projects to manage and promote the collections.
