Responsibilities

I am the manager of the Electronic Resources Cataloging Unit, which is responsible for providing and maintaining access via records in Aleph, Mirlyn, and Summon to electronic journals and monographs, online databases, web sites, and non-web based remote electronic resources. Access is provided for titles in subscription packages, individually subscribed titles, and open access titles identified for addition to the collection by subject specialists. The unit also works with vendors and Library Systems staff to acquire and load MARC record sets for electronic books and journals in online collections. As needed, the unit’s staff members assist in resolving access and coverage problems associated with the Aleph, Mirlyn, and Summon records created for electronic resources.
