Anne Beaubien

About

Anne provides leadership for Interlibrary Loan, 7FAST and MITS which deliver books and scanned articles to users on campus and at other institutions. She also coordinates sponsored research for the University Library.

Background

Anne has had a variety of roles at the University Library including reference, instruction, and budget officer and has taught in the School of Information. She created MITS in 1980 and 7FAST in 1985. Anne was President of the Association of College & Research Libraries 1991-1992. Anne has a B.A. in social sciences from Michigan State University and an A.M.L.S. from the University of Michigan.

Responsibilities

Anne serves on several library committees including Senior Managers and Collection Management Development Council. She is past chair and current member of the Rethinking Resource Sharing Steering Committee (an international group). Anne is chair of the CIC (Big Ten) Interlibrary Loan Directors and on the implementation group for the UBorrow program that will allow users from the Big Ten universities to borrow books directly from each other.
