I provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for many of the day-to-day operations of the Special Collections Library, especially those centered on services for readers and management of collections.
I received my MLIS from the University of North Texas and interned at the Smithsonian’s National Anthropological Archives while pursuing my graduate degree. I also hold a BA in English from the University of Houston. Most recently, I was Special Collections Librarian at the University of Miami. Prior to Miami, I managed the National Digital Newspaper Program at Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge. I have also worked in the electronic publishing industry where I was responsible for digital humanities collections for academic research. I am an active member of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the American Library Association and have served various roles on committees ranging from Diversity Committee Chair to Preconference Program Planning Committee member. I have spoken nationally on diversity in the special collections profession and on access to historical newspapers.
