Martin Lovell Knott
Martin oversees the acquisition, licensing, cataloging and maintenance for the Library’s electronic resources as well as catalog and discovery tool management. He routinely applies his aptitude for technology to problem-solve and collaborate on creative solutions. His research interests are electronic resource management, technical services operations, collection development and solutions for licensed content delivery to mobile device users.
Martin earned both his BA and MSI at the University of Michigan.
Manages the Technical Services Division’s ERDM Section, consisting of four units: Data and Materials Management, Electronic Resource Access, Electronic Resource Acquisition & Licensing, and Electronic Resource Cataloging. Defines the goals and objectives of the Section, develops plans and sets priorities for accomplishing them. Participates in planning and policy making within Technical Services. Responsible for hiring and evaluating librarians and staff. Develops policies and procedures. Analyzes and facilitates workflow and communication among the Section’s units and other Technical Services units. Supervises the implementation and management of an electronic resources management system.
